"No, you're right. It was cruel, petty, I didn't know the right thing to do... you," Megatron moves from his spot towards Rodimus. "You scared me, you believed in me to do what I should of done. I should of just released the small bot, I shouldn't of treated Wheeljack so poorly or..." He shakes his head.
"Here I go making grand gestures... I am not even fully here, and I'm trying to claim to be trying better." He stops half way to Rodimus and smiles softly.
"Can you ever forgive me, Rodimus. For running out on you, leaving you to clean my mess. Leaving all of you alone with it..."
Rodimus can't help the bark of laughter. He scared Megatron? He finds that hard to believe, even with the sweet tone Megatron has taken with him. He pauses, letting out a shaky breath and running his hand over his face. His friends would tell him he's making a mistake letting Megatron back into his life after everything but...
Rodimus has never prided himself on being a smart mech. He's always been a bit of a screw up.
He swallows, his palm over his mouth, and looks at Megatron over his fingers. Could he forgive him? Rodimus could forgive a lot of things, or at least shove them to the side in favor of doing something more fun and pleasurable. But using him to pretend to die and then escape. To run and leave them behind...
"I don't know," he says softly, dropping his hand so he could cross his arms. "I don't..." Megatron has stopped and isn't touching him. Maybe that's for the best, it means Rodimus can try and keep a clear head. (Laughable.) "It's not just what you did, Megs. It's how you did it. I want to believe you can be better. I've seen you be better. But there's only so much I can do if you won't help yourself first. And using me, us... It fraggin' hurt, Megatron."
"A fair retort. I will never hold it against you," he lies. "I've done terrible things, and perhaps my redemption is too late. But when I get the Chimera Stone, I promise there will be change to be made." He swallows the air around him. Smiling briefly.
He steps forward as a mist exists his mouth in a vent out. He does not raise his hands to him, he simply bridges that gap that Rodimus refused to himself. Coward... The both of them.
"I... have been looking into the world out there. It really is perspective..." He looks away. "You'd think it would of been since the start, having nothing here but my own powers. But I think I needed to be chased out, to really see what the world is here; not like my home. And you'd think living where I was even home would of allowed me to be better."
He shakes his head. "I think I still have a ways to go. I want there to be change."
